The Single Breasted Suit

Joka vuosi jopa 5000 suomalaista naista sairastuu rintasyöpään, ja rinnan poistaminen on monissa tapauksissa yhä tehokkain hoitomuoto. Moni nainen valitsee jatkaa elämää ilman toista rintaa. Muotimaailmassa yksirintaisuus on edelleen harvinaisuus, joka ei näy eikä kuulu.Kuvaavaa onkin, että sanapari "single breasted" merkitsee ensisijaisesti muodissa yksirivistä puvun takkia. Itsevarmuutta ja vahvuutta huokuvat naisten puvut ovat nousseet kestosuosioon powersuit ja boss lady -trendien myötä, joten on kummaa, että puvut eivät ole ottaneet huomioon naisten kehojen monimuotoisuutta nykyistä paremmin. Siksi päätimme tehdä todellisen single breasted -puvun yhdessä muotisuunnittelija Katri Niskasen kanssa.

Every year, as many as 5,000 Finnish women are diagnosed with breast cancer, and in many cases the removal of a breast is still the most effective form of treatment. Many women choose to continue their lives single breasted. In the world of fashion, missing a breast is still a rarity that is neither seen nor heard. It is ironic that the term “single breasted” in fashion primarily refers to a suit jacket with single row of buttons. Women’s suits associated with confidence and strength have become lasting favorites through the powersuit and boss-lady trends, so it is strange that suits have not taken the diversity of women’s bodies into account any better. That's why we decided to create a truly single-breasted suit together with fashion designer Katri Niskanen.
